Founded by Antoinette (Onyx) Sullivan, ONYX MODE was born from a life-changing journey to South Africa in 2018. What began as a personal experience quickly became a lifelong commitment to preserving traditional craftsmanship, building meaningful relationships with artisans, and sharing the beauty of African culture with communities around the world.

Our Story

During my travels throughout Africa, I discovered something far more meaningful than beautiful handcrafted products I discovered the incredible people behind them.

Their skill, creativity, and dedication inspired me in ways I never expected.

Rather than simply purchasing products, I began building genuine relationships with the artisans themselves. Those relationships continue to shape ONYX MODE today.

As trust grew, I was invited to work alongside skilled artisans, helping create select collections while learning about the traditions, techniques, and stories passed down through generations. That experience transformed the way I viewed craftsmanship and became the foundation of everything ONYX MODE represents.

As ONYX MODE continued to grow, I wanted a symbol that represented more than a logo.

The giraffe became that symbol.

Native to Africa, the giraffe represents vision, confidence, growth, and elevation the same values that guide our brand every day.

Standing above the landscape, the giraffe reminds us to see beyond what's directly in front of us, embrace new perspectives, and continue reaching higher while staying grounded in our purpose.
